Purposes of practicum
I am a student majoring in English literature. My goal in joining the program student exchange to teach in schools in ASEAN countries under the auspices of SEMEO (South Asian Ministry of Education Organization). The reason for taking this opportunity was because he wanted to seek new experiences abroad, such as culture. I want to hone my English skills, build relationships with people abroad, and learn new things because I have a high level of curiosity about things. So being an SEA teacher is an opportunity to learn new things abroad and learn specific learning methods in Vietnam.
Procedures of practicum
I went to Dong Thap University, Vietnam, departing on September 11 at 15.00 from Indonesia to Vietnam and arriving at Tân Sơn Nhất Hồ Chí Minh City International Airport, Vietnam, at 18.00. We were greeted by friends or Dong Thap University students at the airport, then from the airport to The university greeted by a university car, and the buddies took about six to seven hours of travel until they arrived at midnight. The buddies watched us until we found a safe place before they left us. After that, we rested. The next day we met for an orientation meeting and a campus tour around Dong Thap University, and in the afternoon we hung out in the Cao Lãnh City area. On the evening of the welcoming ceremony by the university, I was happy because we were welcomed very friendly. The next day, Mr. Truc accompanied us to the future school to introduce us to the future school and carry out a welcoming ceremony by the school. Arriving at school on time, the children gathered and made morning preparations by singing the mandatory Vietnamese song.
Yeni and Miss Thúy
Miss Thùy was my supervisor who guided and directed me to make a lesson plan. I would like to thank Miss Thùy for guiding me.
Yeni and Miss anh
Miss Anh is the coordinator of SEA Teacher activities at Future School, I am very grateful to have Miss Anh she is very kind and always gives me advice and solutions when I finish teaching. I learned many new things from her. After finishing the demo teaching on the last day I was very grateful to Miss Anh who guided me patiently and as a form of expression of gratitude I gave or draped a traditional scarf from Indonesia around Miss Anh's neck.
Yeni and Mr. Truc
Mr. Truc is a lecturer at dong thap university, Vietnam. While there we felt comfortable like our own father because we were always cared for. Every morning always asking how are you today?. The word is always remembered by me even though we are college children he always calls us "Cute Boys and girls". as well as many messages given to us when returning to Indonesia. As an expression of my gratitude to Mr. Truc I waved a traditional shawl from Indonesia and said goodbye to return to Indonesia and that moment was very impressed.
